Ehrm guys...this is pure speculation. I would try and avoid getting all fired up about it.
I get that you're frustrated, we all are, but spreading rumours like this definitely wont lure any official into this thread when he or she has to expect such a loaded atmosphere of people throwing wild accusations at them.
I've been having the same cut scene issues everyone has been talking about. When I downloaded this recent update, I was hoping for the problem to be fixed... but nope, I had too much hope. Now my game will open in some odd combo between windowed and full screen and will load for about three minutes at about 44 fps, and when that is finished, it will go to a black screen and drop to 9 fps. I do understand they are working on other things, but I am very disappointed in how long this is taking. I'm more upset about not being able to just roam the city and do side missions anymore because this of this update. Also, there should really be more communication between us and the team who's trying to fix this mess!!
About those "updates" you're talking about...they are getting auto-downloaded and auto-applied via Origin, aren't they? When I check for updates it says "up to date", so I guess I have them. But I'm not sure. Is there a way to check the game version and what should be the latest one? Thanks in advance.
Cuts cenes still bad, but the game ranning better after update on gtx9604gb.
IMPORTANT: You need to set the window mode to borless in the game settings and everything but not the cuts cenes are very good.
In full screen mode I had after the update problems like:
Black screen by loading at the beginning 1 second.
Menu and game extreem freezings and was not able to play amy more.
Performance drops.
If you have problems with the resolution of textures, try to turn of the graphic memory limit in the settings from the game settings.
Be careful with this option, because the game needs much memory in the ultra and above settings. With 4gb graphic memory (real 3,5gb like I was told) and 8gb ram the game is running good, but it is no Garantie, I tried it 30min and I had high resolution everywhere.
At the moment I have graphic memory limit on, this needs performance, becomes it does many things in the background to safe memory, not only the textures. Today I try with off again.
Yesterday I was playing till midnight and I can tell you the game is great from the story and the missions, sometimes I was nearly at a hard attack.
I have a GTX 950 overclocked, and I'm not having any issue with GPU limitations turned off, I don't have to put it on borderless windowed mode. Performance is actually about the same with the limit off, and I have the games set to 1080p, high textures, high post processing, high effects, and everything else set to medium. I get around 50 to 60 FPS most of the time.

I know, that is why I said if its a rumor. I know some people are going to read outside the written lines, but I can't help that. Some people will just blow things out of proportion, but alternatively if that really was the case, or some version of it that is very unwise. They should have more people ironing out these kinks so that the people that already own this games get what they paid for, and not a broken product.
UPDATE MADE IT WORSE! not only is the cutscenes even harder to watch but now the game itself lags more... and it takes up sooo much memory. Also, all this time that they have had this problem, I have never seen any reply posts or updates from developers here! do they even care that so many people can not play because of this?!
I am also continuing to see audio desyncs (and the video is ridiculously slot). I am still able to play, and regular Gameplay is quite smooth, but the cutsenes are unwatchable. I have skipped all of them so far; maybe I can find them on YouTube or something later.
A game studio has usually several teams working on different projects, especially a big developer like DICE. I also suffer from flickering issues after the patch which forces me to use borderless window mode. Cutscenes still won't work, though I'm enjoying the game and still bought the game despite knowing of those issues.

How much memory has your graphic card?
Yes we can play without high end cards.
I think it is running better as they thought it will be, because after the realise they put in the hyper settings. So that everybody needs now a gtx980ti or 1080 I gess.
They pushing the settings, so nvidia can sell heigh end cards better, lol.
I stay with my gtx960 4gb till next year.
So I tried again and these are the best settings for me.
- Borderless window mode (1080p with 1080p monitor so there is no different like fullscreen mode!)
- graphic memory limit OFF
- graphic settings ULTRA
I tell you my specs again
- slow CPU i5 650
- midrange GPU GTX960SSC 4GB (the memory is important)
- 8GB DDR3 RAM
- 500GB SSD (maybe important too)
The game is smooth at 45-50FPS.
I have no freezings anymore.
And the best, the cutscenes are defenetly better now. They are max 1-2 seconds out of sync and the video has no freezing. It can be better, but I can understand them and I can watch them without headache.
I am now to 80% happy and can play.
I did tests for over 1 hour with this settings and had two cutscenes.
I got some intel: (Click on the picture to read the error dialog box)
what the frell happened there?
Also... It is getting radicolous. We all run the game fluently on either hyper, ultra, high, medium or low but as fast a cutscene begins the video stutters. Also, this has something most probably to do with the way the codecs loads. FPS is stil the same when i watch a broken cutscene. And the sound of the background music does not stutter as it belongs to the gameplay and not the video (game background music is also used in some cutscenes)
Also i have seen that the thumbnail videos in the progression screen that is supposed to show you what the different upgrades does also lags just like the cutscenes which means they maybe work the same way.

All 950's have 2GB of memory, so I couldn't do Ultra.

I have grophic memory limit off
Just for fun I tried hyper settings with 960 4GB and I never had problems with the memory. Maiby it is posible because i have a fast SSD.
The only thing was that i have only 25-30FPS because of the speed from the graphic card.
BUT NEVER RUN OUT OF MEMORY.
I can make Video, but the screenrecording steals me more 7-8 FPS on this game.
And my 8GB RAM cannot be enough, it has to read from the SSD when i play, but not so much and without freezings.
I think the option for the graphic limit is a good idea, but i was reading, that this option has many processes which doing more than only push down the textures. There are processes which looking for the antialiasing and other stuff. This needs performance in realtime. I think graphic cards like 950 and 960 has not enofh power and they run better without this option.
It can be that a HDD is not fast enogh to to hold the readingstream in game, so SSD is important.
So i can tel this only becouse of tests with my computer, it can be compleate different on yours.
By the way, im at 60% at the Story and i love it. When they fix the cutscenes, this game gets 100% and 5 Stars from me.
Was going good so far, with the hints collected here I thought there was a chance of actually playing the game and surprisingly the second cinematic of the story went smoothly for the most part. There was a very slight desync for a second and you could almost feel the game wanting to screw it again, but it was fine. So I continued playing, finished the first real asignment (Elysium building) and it was a blast.
Then I returned to the safehouse and watched the next cutscene and *bam*, ruined again. Totally out of sync, best way was to look away and just listen to the audio. -.-
The game is so broken, you'd expect them to do something fast. Especially since the beta aparently did not have this issue. But instead, silence. I get that you cannot communicate each and every small detail to your customers, least of all specific dates when you're not sure you can keep them, as more outrage would surely follow.

- loading is fast
- menu is perfect
- and the map is faster and has no freezings anymore when you fly around.

I know right. I don't know how in the world they broke the cutscenes, but fixed the core game.
Then I returned to the safehouse and watched the next cutscene and *bam*, ruined again. Totally out of sync, best way was to look away and just listen to the audio. -.-
