I have been playing it now for the last 45 minutes.

The game freezes for a second every 30 seconds or so. Also all the textures were quite soft and some were mildly pixelated. Pretty much ruined the opening for me. Kinda feel bad. Waited so many years and the opening just stuttered here and there and right in the middle of cutscenes.

What i don't get is that the game was just smooth and looked great in the beta. Something since then is gone bonkers.

I cant bear to play it anymore. Every 20-30seconds the game will freeze :(

Hopefully its not a permanent thing.

My specs are Asus Rog G751JY Laptop:

i7 4720HQ quad core processor
24gb ram
Gtx 980m

  • have the same problem and we almost have the same laptop too. I tried some disabling origin in game which solved FPS issues in Battlefield 4, but no effect on Mirrors Edge. Placed the visuals to Low Settings and Ultra Settings to compare and they stutter/freeze about the same.
  • Ok I think I fixed my issue

After all the messing around, it was a computer restart.

Textures are still a bit off tho.
  • Hi all,
I had the same issue, I followed solution provided on this link for another game and it fixed the issue:

    Enjoy!
  • Wow, Disabling AsusGameFirstService.exe worked!!! I can finally play the game lol. Thanks a lot.

I've been having similar issues on my desktop, the cutscene stuttering and in-game lag spikes. My laptop has similar specs to yours, but for some reason runs it fine. My laptop is the MSI Dominator with the 980m, 24 gigs of RAM, basically identical to your system. My desktop, however, is an overbuilt tank that auto adjusts the settings to Hyper, but still can't run it perfectly on low. My desktop specs are:

Nvidia Geforce 1080 Founder's Edition (still haven't had thermal throttling issues because I'm not overclocking it until I get a water block)

Intel i7 K series at 4.0 GHZ, might overclock it later to 4.4 and see if that helps

32 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM

Asus Hero VII motherboard, though I can't imagine the motherboard would have anything to do with my poor performance

    256 GB Samsung SSD

1TB Seagate HDD (Mirror's Edge is installed here)

If anyone has any suggestions to get this game to work properly, it would be appreciated.
