Open World Suggestions [SPOILERS]

So I just played Mirrors's Edge Catalyst and I loved it. My favorite part of the game has to be the open world. I do have one problem. I was disappointed when I realized that The Shard is not in the open world. It has so much potential! So I have a suggestion: add Sky City to the open world. It would provide a fresh, new environment to explore filled with many vertical traversal areas. [SPOLERS] I understand The Shard was partially destroyed near the end of the game, but I'm sure Callaghan Construction Corp employs are willing to repair The Shard in a short amount of time. And it would be nice to see the Bauble Mall fixed. The Conglomerate was never removed from power, so why wouldn't they want to fix their iconic buildings? [END SPOILERS]. I understand this would probably be DLC (this game is published by EA), but that would be ok with me. Another issue I have is those secutity cameras. I will be standing on a rooftop admiring the view and next thing I know I hear, "Scannign gridPrint." Then I have KrugerSec after me. And these cameras are EVERYWHERE. Could the "Runner found, send KrugerSec to kill them" effect be removed after the last mission. [SPOILERS] This would be reasonable since Cat became the head of KrugerSec and I'm hoping she wouldn't want to get her sister killed.[END SPOILERS] Overall great game 9.9/10. Just wanted to share some suggestions.

  • That's a great idea. I would add a true open world at street level
  • I think the game is going to be boring if there was no k-sec
  • In the beta it got really boring since the only action was us running after competing the missions. I suggest to play it as is. But they could add a option in settings for those who don't want it.

Just so you know, you can disable cameras using your disruptor jammer thing. If you're admiring a view and you hear a camera just hold down whatever button that is for the system you're playing on, the camera will no longer give you trouble. I do agree with the sky city explorable area though, any expansion of the game world would be welcome.
  • To find middle ground between K-SEC vs. no K-SEC, introduce Zen mode, where it's just free running, no enemies including turrets unless the mission needs you to take them down (such as the tutorial area and the traversal tutorial). This would allow players to explore areas they'd be forced to run through and get a chance to admire the areas.

I wasn't exactly saying there should be no K-SEC. They should still appear around the map as they currently do. What I am trying to say is that the security cameras shouldn't call K-SEC after the last mission.

I didn't know I could do that. Thanks for pointing that out.

    Great idea.

I disagree, because once you beat the game maybe you want a little fight action so you go to these cameras so they do show up without having to replay a mission.
  • Yeah after you beat the game, choices would be great. I'd love to be able to put the runners house back to how it was in the start of the game with Noah there and everything. Oh yeah be cool to turn off security cameras, all of them, for running around.
