I recently uploaded a video from Twitch where I am doing part of my playthrough of the new Mirror's Edge: Catalyst game. After I uploaded it I received an e-mail for a copyright claim on the video due to their automatic scanning system that detected some of the game music. Here is the link set to where the song starts:
https://youtu.be/l3Nhkw-nz6M?t=37m57s . It goes from 37:57 - 38:55 and was flagged as "Warning Call (Theme From Mirror's Edge Catalyst) [Bonus Track] - CHVRCHES". So my question is: Is this something that I can win if I file an appeal or should I just not try to deal with the legal issue or does the ME: Catalyst EULA prevent me from doing this? I mean, this song is THE theme song, which is why it's in the game. I just don't want to file an appeal, lose it, and then have an copyright strike on my account.
Comments
The song is from 12:43 to 13:13, and was flagged as "The Shard - Solar Fields". I'm not going to file a dispute though. I just don't understand why EA want money so much.
I wish I had the actual soundtrack too.
I never knew EA wanted money so bad that they even had to claim copyright on a ordinary "let's play" video. I guess I'll write that in the description next time.
Oh no it's with EVERYTHING on YouTube now
They'll just put ads on your video and get money for it.
Only big youtubers see that as a problem, reason why they go for a managed partnership: to prevent content id matches.
