Texture quality above low causes big FPS drops

Just like the topic title, MEC will drop many frames and compromise the overall stability of the game if textures are set on anything above low.
Sometimes frames will drop anyways but using higher res textures will cause stuttering and overall framerate problems.
This happens no matter the quality of the other settings. In fact I can run the game with everything at ultra with textures at low and get a maximum drop of 52 frames but play with everything low with textures on high/ultra and get drops down to 42 frames.
I don't want to sound spoiled, but the stability and smoothness are compromised by this. Is there any fix planned or recognised by DICE?
I'm playing on an MSI R9 390 and the game isn't even using half of the 8gb of VRAM.

  • 20% performance difference between low and ultra is pretty much ok for every game.

But anything above low causes drops down to 45 frames, this is different than performance cost.
  • Yes, same here. Play with a Sapphire 390 8GB RAM and the card isn´t even being used to it´s fullest. What the heck is wrong with this game? Still waiting for a fix as it´s absolutely not playable like this for me.
