Any way to disable waypoint icon?

I just got through playing the first level of the game, and I couldn't find a way to disable the icon that shows up on screen to indicate where you're supposed to go to. In the original Mirror's Edge, there was nothing to obstruct your view of the beautiful environments. In this game, the little red icon with the white diamond was extremely distracting and often got in the way when I was trying to take in the environment around me. I've disabled Runner's Vision and every HUD element, but I can't figure out how to disable the icon. Is there any way to disable it for good?

  • You can always disable the active Waypoint, but you can't disable the way points that you don't select for nearby dashes and missions and stuff. Sadly :-(
  • That is very disappointing. It's exactly the kind of handholding that I was hoping wouldn't be present. The icon really is intrusive to the experience. Your view is so close to being clear except for the one little icon dancing around.

In case anyone finds this, I found that I was able to disable it by opening the console (`/~ key) and typing "UI.drawEnable 0". This also removes the pause menu, but honestly it is entirely worth it not to have that icon in the way. I'm glad that I got the PC version and was able to change this setting.

EDIT: nvm, this basically makes the game unplayable since it also messes with popup menus and cutscenes. And it doesn't seem like there's any way to bind it either, so there's no way to quick toggle.

I'm going to request a refund for this game. I can't see myself supporting it until there's a way to turn this obnoxious icon off (as well as the footsteps...like, really? How much handholding do we need? Where's the sense of exploration?)
