512mb VRAM problem

I own a gtx 760 in my main pc and it has 2gb vram and 1152 cuda cores. i have not overclocked or anything on this card i just base line use it. mirrors edge catalyst worked fine before but today it gave me an error claiming i need 512mb of vram or higher and then told me i only had 429mb of vram when in reality i have 2gb. I tried to repair the game in origin repair and i get the same error. I also checked my graphics card driver and it is the Nvidia 368.39 or the lastest driver nvidia has to offer. Please help i spent full price on this game and i would want to play it.

  • I have a 6 GB 980ti and get the same 512 MB error. The game's just broken. I hope they fix it, I haven't been able to play it at all yet.
  • Did you notice anything happening between the time it was working and it wasn't? Did it come after the latest MEC update?

  • I get the same DX11 error as everyone else, I guess. As long as the game runs - basically 10minutes max - my R9 270x is running it rather well on High. Then, out of nowhere really, it kicks me out of the game with this VRAM nonsense.

None of the fixes in the forum help, tried pretty much everything I found. Today I saw an update and got excited... well, nope, still broken.

Has this issue been acknowledged by someone official?
From what I've seen it's known since the closed beta...

Acknowledgement and ETA/outlook would be highly appreciated.
  • Thanks. Im gunna buy the new gtx 1070 soon and hope that fixes it.

I have the same problem. My card is a GTX 970 with 4 GB. It worked earlier today, but there was a Win 10 eventually, and since then i crashes when the start menu should appear.
  • It's not a 512MB problem. That's a standard message alongside of out of memory error. And it's not about video memory, but about virtual memory (paging). Make sure you have virtual memory turned on and make sure drive is not running out of space. Some users with SSD turns it off thinking they have enough RAM. But modern games are very memory hungry. They do need a lot of virtual memory as well.

Follow to virtual memory setting like in this video, but just make sure it set to automatically manage by system.

I cleared 25 GB on my SSD and after at least 4 - 5 hours of playing i can say with confidence that the crashes are entierly gone. To install the Nvidia Driver i cleared 5 GB before and maybe that was why it was running better, and not because of the new drivers.

    Thanks man!
  • SOLVED: go to this link and download the beta drivers and install http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/windows
it worked for me. Make sure u install the beta drivers otherwise it wont work.
  • This doesn't have anything to do with error and hardly anyone here have it.

It worked for me and it comes with some versions of windows 10 (like myself) and it worked for me considering i am having the same problem as everyone else so its worth a try. Also i have been playing the game for a bit now that i fixed it and it runs much smoother than it ever did so whatever that driver did it solved stuff.
