Invisible Icarus

Anyone got a solution to this? I just finished the tutorial-ish missions and am at the starting icon to begin the mission where you steal the data from the labs (feels like the first "real" mission), but everytime I start the mission the camera pans up slightly as I assume Icarus jumps down from a ledge above to talk to me in 1st person, however, he is completely invisible and none of his dialogue is audible, Faith seems to respond to someone as if she's in a conversation but it appears to me she as if she is just talking to herself...
I can tell he must drop down or something because there's sort of a puff of dust effect on the ground where I believe he drops, but yea.. he's completely invisible

  • Have you tried updating your game, and drivers? And what system are you playing this on?
  • I'm playing the PC version on Origin, so I'm assuming it's the latest version, and yea I updated to the latest GeForce game ready drivers for catalyst (mirrors edge not ati/amd catalyst)
  • ****? The problems in this game is getting weirder and weirder. First most people struggle to run all the pre-rendered video files of cutscenes we have. Now we have invisible Icarus lol. Hope your issue gets fixed.
  • ok, so I've found a workaround if anyone else is having this issue. I realized that if I let that conversation play out then hit "reload checkpoint" Icarus becomes visible. However, this still means that I miss that short introductory in-game cutscene, as the checkpoint loads you after they exchange words and Icarus is just standing there.

I tried aborting the mission, then hitting reload checkpoint, still had an invisible Icarus when starting the mission.

What worked though was accepting the mission, then immediately hitting "reload checkpoint" before the dialogue exchange finished, which then loaded me to a checkpoint at the very start of the mission which allowed me to see Icarus drop down and begin talking.

This works for me, I just hope there aren't more instances of invisible characters because while it was obviously noticeable in this case, I suppose I might not catch on if there were invisible characters at some other point in the game if it isn't completely apparent that Faith is talking to herself or referencing someone being there who isn't. :(
