Things in the TRAILER that never happened *Spoilers*

So I played the whole game and remembered watching the - I Am Faith - trailer on youtube, linked here "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOe3ik_RViE" and I noticed there were parts on the trailer that never occurred in the game. Below are some images of the parts if you don't rewatch the trailer with the times these parts happened included

There is also one other part from another trailer as well but i don't remember which. I felt the game was a little rushed and it looks like these part got removed or such, I'm just wondering what happened to these parts?

  • Mentioned the same thing in my story review, and those are exactly the parts I was talking about. I did an in-depth analysis of what I thought was missing from the story if you're interested: https://forums.mirrorsedge.com/discussion/2307/story-review-discussion-spoilers

As for what happened to them, they're probably lying around un-used on a DICE employees computer. Either they couldn't fit the scenes into the game, or the scenes were changed before release. Could be part of DLC later, but I doubt it.

These parts you refer too are not stuff removed but more like videos designed specifically for the trailer. A few movies does the same to their trailers.

Also most games today contain specifically footage's designed only for the trailer.

Most movies actually have stuff removed, and I think that is far more likely. They could be scenes they thought didnt work storywise or left the player watching cinematics for too long .. there are plenty of reasons for them to have been removed.

I do want to believe that it is evidence of DLC in the works however.. because this game needs it.

I think designing cutscene-style footage only for a trailer is both wasteful and misleading. I think Tenka's right and it's more likely that the content was removed.

Lol you have not seen all these games where they specifically made cutscenes for the trailer only. Maybe it is or maybe not. But there is games from huge studios which has trailer specific footage's.
  • Agreed. I doubt focus-testing for Catalyst resulted in anyone asking for more cutscenes, or more story. I'd imagine most of the feedback they got was, "get me back into the game faster, let me retry sooner," etc.

A shame perhaps, but that trailer still gives me chills, so time well spent imo.

Thing is, most of those trailers are CG trailers. Often when they have to develop models and animations for the in-game engine (such as the ME:C trailer) they are intended to be used. I would bet that the assets for those scenes still exist in the game files and maybe years down the line a hacker could unlock them.. unless it is actually part of a work in progress DLC .. in which case we will get it anyway.
  • The area in those shots of Icarus escaping gunfire looks like the underground Kingdom facility. It would make sense, because he mentioned trying to escape that area when they injected him, but we never saw it happen.
  • I don't think he went down into Kingdom. He was injected when they encountered K-Sec topside whilst moving Isabel Kruger.

  • Trailers are made by a video production company that's hired to make an advertisement to move product. That's why you get nonsense like this:

    Good points

I do think they are un-used or removed parts because as AlexGiudici mentions that part where Icarus and Nomad are running looks like kingdom, or atleast just the underground area near Black November, either way Nomad never does go underground in the game and I don't believe Icarus was chased in there either. And as for the with the K-sec chasing faith that's a little strange because in the game they can't really run and I was hoping it would be chase level just the in ME original. Perhaps those parts were made just for the trailer but the kingdom area seems oddly specific; if it was removed or never made for the main game I do hope it's a sign we'll get it in DLC
  • I was wondering the same thing about those scenes. Looks like they removed them or dlc maybe?
  • Could they be a possible nod to a sequel?

Where was this? In the trailer, Faith is sliding down this sloped area. It looks kind of like that building that you cross through the lobby to get to The View, but I definitely didn't encounter this specific sloped area in my playthrough.

@AlexGiudici Yeah it is the lobby it's the just the upper part you'll need the mag rope to get into. You cross through it multiple times as you do mission's that come from the view, you'll see it soon
  • Cool, thanks!
  • At this stage, I'm pretty certain that the clip with Icarus running from K-Sec in the tunnels comes from a cutscene that
would've shown Tristan being shot and killed by K-Sec.
Rebecca returns to the tunnels later to lament on her time with him, and vow revenge. Hence the explosion that damages The Shard.
