(Spoiler) Confused by Faith's Sister

Is the story in Catalyst in a "Donnie Darko-esque" alternate universe? I distinctly remember her sister being a cop in Robert Popes office, and she was not brainwashed and they hugged. Was Catalyst a prequel or something?

  • Catalyst is a reboot.
"The Flow is what keeps us running... keeps us alive."
  • Edit that title, ffs. There's no point including a spoiler warning when the title itself is the spoiler.
  • It's a reboot, which means it a new story
  • Either way i like the reboot. The story makes more sense to me and they did it more detailed than the old one. Now they even got a webpage with backstory stuff explaining whole different stuff about the country, the companies etc. They have been sitting down writing on stuff for the story base stuff for this reboot.
  • I was wondering that, i mean i thought it was a prequel and technically, it still can be, i mean Faith thought her sister was dead, but was wrong and she is happy about it and her sister thought she was dead and cried about it for months and now that she learnt that she was alive all this time, she understandably felt abandoned and i am guessing over time she can get over that.

So technically, it can still be a prequel, but it is more likely a reboot.

  • My bigger question and one I'm surprised no forum or tvtropes page or person has seemingly asked is...

How'd she get a lung condition?

I can't help but suspect it was actually caused by Kruger n his tear gas.
What better way to permanently destroy a girl's lungs than to make a 4 to 5~ year old girl fall unconscious from running for her life then passing out coughing from breathing in that **** all while high out of her mind for survival on adrenaline?

Guess we'll see if/when a sequel or story DLC is made....

Well, it was likely the tear gas, but she must have had weakened lungs to begin with for the tear gas to have knocked her out, since tear gas is what it does, it causes your eyes to run and you to cough, which pretty much incapacitates you, but it shouldn't cause lung damage, so i am guessing it was either a specially modified tear gas or Kruger deliberately damaged her lungs to get her to accept that new thing which suppressed her lung damage and likely caused her to be brainwashed.

Or it's just a chronical condition as Kruger said, meaning she had it from birth. Therefore she could not stand the tear gas and collapsed.

Well she is a little girl, younger than Faith, which puts her under the age of seven. Getting hit with a full can of tear gas is damaging, especially because her lungs are still developing.
