Dear Developers,
We have an idea about multiplayer which we think players will find entertaining. It is something you have talked about in an interview or a video. We know you have said about having multiple faith's, so we came up with a solution that possibly others have already come up with. It is about seeing the echo/ghost of the other player. However of course it would be crowded because a lot of people play this game. So we also came up with the idea of only having the ability of only seeing you'r friends in game if they have it. We hope you think about our idea of multiplayer and maybe we see it in a future update.
Sincerely
Mirrors edge fans.

  • There is just no way that's happening. Game development does not work that way. You can't change the fundamentals once the game is past pre-alpha.

  • How about a way to leave Faith's perspective and become another runner in multiplayer?

Something like this: You take a train to The Shard, which will act like a multiplayer hub. There, you can create your multiplayer character, so you're no longer playing as Faith. One you've created your character, you can select servers to run with 64 or more players. Maybe DLC? I'd buy it ;)

Not going to happen. Like ever. I said that it's way too fundamental to be implemented at the point past pre-alpha. The game is released now.

It can still happen, I'll be waiting for an update either way--

  • Depending of how the code is written, completely new features can be really easy rather than impossible to implement into the project.

in this case, multiplayer mods have been a thing for a long while now.
  • Big games like Mirror's Edge don't usually get big implementations and updates. After they go gold and are released, maybe only patches and small updates get released for it.
  • I can see how this idea would work, but what would the other players achieve? Would it simply be a matter of competing in races with other players online, more like joining a race than joining a server? Or would it be playing on a server where people are always there, running their own missions whilst you do your own tasks in-game, like Grand Theft Auto V's multiplayer system?
  • A lobby style could also work, people would just be able to see each other (maybe just give them a character each up to a certain number) and they can just run around the city like that - it would be more like hanging out rather than racing or fighting (although it would be fun if that was possible). While 64 would be funny, 8 would work for most friends groups (+ a couple randoms)
"Yeah yeah I'm sure the birds are real impressed Faith, but once you're done showing off think you might concentrate on some actual work?!!" - Merc
  • Obviously multiplayer would need to come out in the next game. Creating your own runner needs to happen. I think 16 people in a server would probably be enough, though I would take a 64 player rooftop race any day of the week. But you need to be able to run with your friends, be a great social activity. There could be co op deliveries, where one player escorts the other with a package, runs interference on cops, etc. Relay races, where players hand off packages to each other. (Think of the rage, screaming at your buddy to hurry the F up!). ****, I would even play a horde mode where you just fight endless waves of cops. Mirrors Edge needs multiplayer.
