Black November and the Communist Manifesto

While playing the mission "Top of the World" (insert a chip on top of an antenna for Rebecca) I noticed when she was talking about Isabel Kruger, she expressed that Black November had many communist ideals, whereas the Families expressed more capitalist ideas. Black November was saying that everybody be valued equally, and that they must all work the same, whereas the Families were about personal achievement and how it will better society. Of course, the Families do trick the civilians, but that was really the only "bad" thing I found. Rebecca also treated the world as a zero-sum competition, which capitalism proves to not be necessary. As Black November is looked down upon by Noah, was this an anti-communist propaganda? I think so, but please share your thoughts.

  • Characters having an opinion isn't the same thing as developers holding an opinion.
  • what I can't understand is why rebecca has to give me a speech while I climb the building. I mean, it's not the time. If I'd want to hear what she believes in I would ask her, but not on the radio

She's compelled. She's working for Omnistat and knows Faith has the blueprint. Anything that might convince Faith to hand it over is fair game for her. Even when you're climbing the tower :p

  • Both Omnistat and the conglomerate are two extremes on either end of a political spectrum. Regarding Rebecca it is hinted at that she might work for Omnistat and therefore values their ideals. As for the rest of the characters I'd say they are somewhere in the middle. However it is clear that both extremes result in oppression the way there is not really that important. As for Noah and his opinions I'd say that he agrees with black November on the goal of equality but not the way to it, they did belong to the same group prior to the November riots.
