I like Mirror's Edge Catalyst. I would like to love it.
I like the story. Indeed, the story mode is the only thing that really matters to me. I found the parallels with the previous iteration amusing. I found the background I could read on the Internet awesome.
Some side missions are cool (the one with the divorcing spouse was the best of all of them... perhaps because it had story in it, instead of "go there with that package no one cares about").
So, I finished the story. Lots of experience points. Runner emblem. Whatever.
Then I wanted to play the story again, leveraging on my acquired familiarity with the controls and gameplay.
So I tried "New Game".
It took me a while to find it, and when I choose it, it said it would erase my save. ****?
I went through it, and guess what, it erased my previous save.
I'm sure there must be someone on this planet who thought this was a cool feature.
So, I humbly suggest now to add not one, but TWO revolutionary features:
1 - Add multiple game slots, instead of one.
2 - Add a Start New Game+ where you keep the experience and everything you acquired. reset the cameras and the mission, but keep the acquired recordings, the acquired runners emblem, etc.
Thanks,
P.S.: No, the "replay mission" is not the same. I want the story, with the cutscenes and all. Please, take a look at Ace Combat 5: Unsung Heroes for PS2. They had those two features. More than a decade ago. I know. Because this is what I will be playing right now. While uninstalling Mirror's Edge Catalyst.
