( PC )Microstutter in gameplay

I am having extremely annoying micro stutter while playing . I have all settings on Ultra and i play on 1080p in 60 fps HOWEVER it doesn't feel like playing smooth at all. The game feels jittery and micro stutter is definitely present especially when panning around or turning around.

what i already tried :
- playing in Full screen and borderless: makes no difference
- Triple Buffering enabled and disabled :makes no difference
- V sync ON and OFF in-game settings and in the drivers : makes no difference
- changing the sensitivity of my controller : makes no difference
- playing with Keyboard and Mouse with the controller detached : makes no difference

the framerate is consistent and doesnt drop so a rock solid 60 fps

I have a i5 4690K@4.2 Ghz 16 GB DDR3 GTX 970 Sli Windows 10 64 Nvidia 368.39 drivers everything is up to date and i have 0 background programs running except for EVGA PrecisionX

  • also did this:
ALT -TAB and in task manager i selected the MEC priority to HIGH
I even deleted my PROV_SAVE_profile file and redialed all my settings
    Lowering graphical settings

tried everything the game still has microstutter what really needs to be fixed.
I want to send in my DxDiag even to the developers to get rid of the annoying microstutter.

I'm surprised you're unaware of the 3.5Gb micro-stutter issue with that model of card. I'm not sure it can be avoided in Catalyst, given the size of the texture load. You'll be hitting that .5Gb slowmode cache constantly.

Does clamping CPU memory limit not help at all?
  • Microstutter is more prevalent in dual/triple/quad gpu set ups.

    This too.

But specifically to the 970 memory issue, I don't know anyone who's tried the game without GPU clamp, who didn't experience it, (dozen+ friends on that configuration.) The game's just too hungry the way, say, Unity at launch was. I personally don't think it can be avoided, SLi or no. Nvidia pulled a fast one with that model, for sure. A shame it's been as popular as it has.
  • i think you must check you don't have pre rendered frames to 1 in nvidia control panel.........
  • I sold the GTX 970 Sli and bought a GTX 1080 playing this in Hyper settings is beautifull but the microstutter and non - smooth motion ( ESPECIALLY WHEN PANNING THE CAMERA ) is still ruing the game and the immersion i get distracted by it so much that i stopped playing this game because i get a headache from the microstutter.

FYI i play with an Xbox 360 gamepad i cant play with a mouse and keyboard due to my hands are disabled ( i miss fingers typing this post took me 20 minutes ) the only way i can play is this with a gamepad..

so i please pledge the devs to look up this annoying microstutter.
  • Micro stuttering in certain areas of the game on a GTX 1080 also, playable but really annoying.

    Dice pls.
