Does Starting a NEW GAME deletes the USER CREATED CONTENT ? [SOLVED]

Hello, having finished the game, I wish to restart my adventure. (I like the game BTW)

But before to do so, I would like to know if its going to erase/delete the Time Trials and the BEAT L.E. that I've created in my first play-through.

You see, I don't mind to have to collect again all the Grid Leaks and/or Recordings/Documents and Electronics Parts but now that I created several Time Trials and they have been tried by several hundreds of users, I consider those as carefully crafted 'engineering work'.

I did work more than 1 hour to create just a 25 seconds Time Trial just to place the red circle checkpoints in a appropriate and graceful pattern; I will never press the New Game button if it's going to erase those :'(

(EDIT [SOLVED]): user 'ninemil' gave me the information that we can restart without loosing our "created content" and it's true! To precise furthermore, when starting a New Game, the User Created Content becomes available after the mission "Mischief Makers", which succeed the mission #4 "Back In the Game"!

  • It kept my Beat L.E.'s and my single time trial the last time I did it. It also kept all my official trial times, my Division and unlocks.

Was on PC, last patch. I did restore my save after, but checked my profile multiple times whilst playing through on the fresh save.

    Hope that helps?
  • Sure it did help!!! I searched for days the answer to that!
    Thanks!!!!!!!!
I may try a NEW GAME later tonight! I was reading for days trying to find if I could without loosing my Time Trials! (I should have specified I'm on PC/Origin too)

    MANY MANY thanks!!!

Would you mind sharing, or giving a link on how to Save & Restore your savegame?

    Regards

  • PROF_SAVE in Documents/Mirrors Edge Catalyst/settings is the save file.

Remember, Origin will try overwriting it when you copy it back in, so copy, not cut, and make sure you select "Use Local" when Origin detects the conflict.
  • can't you just use the replay missions screen?

I believe when you use the replay mission screen it's going to load you back where you were before trying that mission? This would disrupt the 'fluidity' of the story line a tad to my max enjoyment.

My second point is I was liking to see the multiple colored Grid Leaks floating everywhere and now that I collected most, I don't see them around anymore:(

Many thanks! I was paralyzed, not knowing what to do about my User Created Content! GreaT!

I'm going to try that tonight:)

  • You miss a lot of the cutscenes and important NPC chatter if you use the replay option. Some missions don't start until the first checkpoint, too. If you're playing for the story, New Game is better.

    You're welcome, @GroovyMusic - glad I could help.

Thanks again ninemil! I did a New Game and I appreciate more the first chapters now that I gained experience from my first playthrough. As you confirmed: My User Created Content is still intact! It seems likely that those UCC are saved on EA's servers and linked to the users' accounts rather than their personal save games.

I will precise further that the User Created Content becomes available after the mission "Mischief Makers", which succeed the mission #4 "Back In the Game"!

  • Yeah, restarting for those first few cutscenes and NPC chatter is really rewarding, isn't it? Particularly if you listened to all of the voice recordings. I feel for Aline - she got mightily stitched up at Elysium.
