It doesn't happen super often, but it has been the third time. And it's always kernel_security_check_failure.

My specs (nothing is overclocked):
Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
AMD FX-6100
16GB ram, 2x4gb + 1x8gb 667MHz
GTX 970
1920x1080, and I have a 2nd 1600x900 monitor, not sure if relevant

I also want to note that I am using a wired xbox one controller, also not sure if relevant.

I have Send Crash Reports enabled but I'm not sure if those ever get sent in the case of a blue screen.

edit: wow okay great my save file got corrupted when I tried to restore using the local file. And apparently it won't restore using cloud saves because it automatically started a new game the next time I tried to launch it. I'd like to leave the planet now.

  • I'm having the exact same issue. GTX 970, Windows 10, FX6300. I'm trying to find the local save files so I can back it up myself cuz I'm not going to restart the campaign from the begining for a 2nd time.

Yeah I was like 90% done with the story too. I'm backing up both C:\User\<you>\AppData\Local\Origin and C:\User\<you>\AppData\Roaming\Origin. I think you only really need the Cloud Saves and ..\Origin\LocalStorage folders in both those directories but I'm taking it all just to be safe. Really hoping this doesn't sour my opinion of the game, I really do love this IP.

The latest patch introduced a save backup system. If you go to Documents/Mirrors Edge Catalyst/settings, you'll find two copies of your save.

    PROF_SAVE

    and

    PROF_SAVE_backup

The backup may not be corrupted.

Also, just so you know - NVidia released new drivers to fix 364.67 BSOD.
  • I already updated drivers to 368.39 when MEC came out. Gotta be something else. But thanks, I'll start backing up those files.
  • Don't just archive them. The PROF_SAVE_backup may work, if you rename it to PROF_SAVE.

Also, the BSOD bug persisted throughout all revisions, until this driver revision. My bad, I should have made that clearer.
  • Well, as soon as you start the game... I got my backups overwritten. :(

In a next patch, that shouldn't happen.
