Hello,
I have a very serious performance issue: on the menu (same problem on the game), the FPS drops to 0 for several seconds every 5-10s, while the CPU goes 100%, and it never stops.
I have specifications higher than the minimal requested (but not the recommended ones), and I set all the settings on low.
I have a quadcore i5 3.4 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, and a GeForce 670 GTX 4GB. The graphic driver is up to date.
And there is something I don't understand: the specifications require 6 GB RAM, but the memory used by the game can't go above something like 2.6 GB. What's going wrong here?
I know that my GPU is not that young, but is still decent to play recent games on medium at least (e.g. The Witcher 3 and GTA V run smoothly on medium-high).
Here, even the low settings make things impossible, the menu is not usable this is insane!
Can someone please bring me some help to solve this serious performance issue?
Thank you.

Do not worry, I have a NVIDIA 980 GTX and I'm experiencing the same issue of freeze frame.
What solved it for 99% of the time was to de-activate the motion blur, it fixed the fps drop for most of the issues I had.
It's not 100% guarantee but you'll experience much less problem.
From a consumption on graphic, I noticed that reducing Texture and Lightning makes little effect on FPS while reducing motion blur (off) and reflection helps a lot at making the game experience much smoother.
You can always try to go down in the resolution, it should give you some extras.
Good luck do not hesitates to ask more question or relate your experience, I'll try to help from time to time

I guess it's time to switch to SSD
I already set everything on low or off when possible, so blur was already disabled.
Also, I install all my recent games on a SSD so this is not the problem.
Actually I found my solution, it was on the NVIDIA Control Panel > 3D Settings > Manage 3D settings > Program Settings, for Mirror's Edge: Catalyst set the Power management mode on Prefer maximum performance (defaults to Optimal power).
I think this can be useful for anyone else with a NVIDIA GPU who encounters the same problem, this is definitely something to check.
Thank you!
