DICE finally made a compelling story. While its not complex, its simple enough to understand and gives depth to Faith, the Runners, Glass, and other characters.
The open world is a bit repetitive, yes, but it plays pretty nicely. Sweet musical score sets a beautiful tone and mood for the game that makes the world extremely unique. Its sad that this now series of games doesn't see the attention it deserves. I guess more progress and innovation needs to happen. But that's for the next title!
DICE, you made a game that fully surpasses the original in every way. Mirrors Edge was extremely unique and atmospheric, but it lacked polish and a compelling story. Mirrors Edge: Catalyst fixes those problems....mostly. More interesting characters, deeper world building, better customization, interactions, and other elements can turn the next game, if there will be one, into a masterpiece.
Thanks DICE!

The story left many important details out like Icarus' past, why Faith shot Kruger's son, and even what the importance is of Faith's arm tattoo. It could be that it was left out on purpose to save for another possible game or DLC, but it honestly just feels rushed despite the years they've had.
This ^
The characters are a lot better then the original game which was very atmospheric and special (which is why i'm a big fan) but the story was not good. This was miles better, I liked the characters, the story was great, there were better motivations, and more world background really makes MEC more immersive; and with this it sets up for nicely for the next game.
Nice post
I understand your thoughts. I'd like to address some.
I never heard that Faith shot Kruger's son. And he has/had a son? Where in the game is that?
The importance of Faiths tatoo has to do with her growing up years, her mother and other details that either are for a future game, or for us to decipher. That stuff I love.
Icarus's past is addressed in the in game documents you find. Same with Noah and one of the other runners. In fact, a LOT of the lore and history of Cascadia and Glass is in the game. You have to collect the documents to learn more.
Birdman wasn't important, but seeing more of him would have been nice for stronger character establishment. Such as what kind of runner he was and why he thinks highly of Faith in the first place.
Some areas of improvement, but others are in the game. And there was a good chunk of character development. Maybe you missed it? Specifically for Faith, Noah, the world, and many other things. Its all in the game.
