The Time Trial Sharing Thread (PC) — Mirror's Edge™ Catalyst Forums
After creating a couple time trials and understanding that they don't update live for everyone, I thought it would be cool to make a thread so we could exchange them.
Here are three I created last week:
Almost ! I can't manage to beat your score but, I found a way to gain extra time compared to you at the very beginning where there are very small stairs leading up. You can actually jump on them giving you an extra boost
@Geoffrey : Here's what you can do to go faster (I didn't know about jumping on the stairs upside) :
- Use Wall-runs, as much as you can ;
- Jump over some obstacles with legs up, so you can skip animations ;
- Jump over obstacles like glass barriers early to jump horizontally instead of vertically ;
- Use acceleration (right click) at start, on stairs, and after slow animations like sliding and rolling.
@Yuki Yes yes yes and yes but for some reasons, you're still ahead of one second because I always commit a very "small" mistakes that breaks the entire momentum. Tough run especially at the beginning to get the perfect angle and timing, I'll give it another try later ^^ (I noticed you went sub 1 minute lol) Keep making more!
Here's some of mine that I finally remembered to actually post...(whoops. Sorry about that, haha, but here you go. Also, it seems that Don't Lose Track! has more than one person playing it, and Keep Up! only has one person in my friends list playing it, for some reason. No one else seems to have noticed the other ones, even though 3 of them are near The Lair.)
And here's the Out of Bounds Fun that I made while I was messing around with the area around Elysium and /unsuccessfully/ trying to get into the labs):
I'll try them all, now that I've beat most of @Yuki trials
I've almost finished designing another. It just need a bit of fine tuning before I get to publish it. I'll post it later.
Mind you its an OOB run, thus it's nigh impossible to do at night, due to the lack of lighting. Almost 10 secs still could be shaved off, but I always screw up a jump midway... Just cut 15secs.
EDIT:
The OoB FUN run was indeed fun, managed to cut a little bit of time there, not so much at the Go Play Outside, which I found to be much more difficult.
Great thread overall, can't wait to test the rest.
Awesome! I found the Cubic Round one by accident thinking it was a Beat L.E. actually, haha. I never managed to do the normal route, because I couldn't quite get through the fan right. Tricky!
(I can't believe people are playing my stuff. Neat.)
Just made another OOB run, and I highly suspect that area was cut off midway from development or might be part of future DLC, because of the amount of detail it have. It's starting with a long staircase section, but atleast you get to meet some nice new people in person (14 infact) during the run. Probably can be done under 1:30, aside from the start feels really smooth to me.
I should really edit my list up there, but I'm too lazy, lol. Ah well, I make new ones all the time, so it's hard to keep it consistent, unfortunately.
The "Join The Party" one. The heck? I found that standing on the glass railing (or ledge, I don't know what it is) and SHIFTing at an angle and spamming jump lets you sort of glitch on the nearly non-existent platform ledge of the glass wall. So I have managed to almost get to the first cube, but I either slide off, or like what happened one time, jump off the cube, crouch mid-air and slide onto the upper cube above the first cube and get stuck in a crouch where there wasn't any room and it didn't save my spawn because I was crouched, so I had to die. I'll keep at it and see what I can do.

I took the time to make some fun and challenging time trials!
Add me and have at it
I will be more than happy to have at yours
I just made a time trial that I cannot even do smoothly myself.
Driving me crazy to try and get a perfect run, wanted to see if anyone else could manage it.

I just set it at 1:00.01. Who's for sub 1:00 ?

I'm looking forward to it

But I found that accelerating on stairs (Right Click) is still faster than jumping on them.
My Don't Lose Track! seems to be really popular:

Back and Forth is probably one of my favorites:

While Compact and Tricky is an easy one to get lost in. (Even for me.)

I also made some out of bounds ones. While this one is easy to do, it's also kind of easy to mess up?

Meanwhile feel free to try my very first run too, at the ANANSI tower:

I cam up with a new one:

Pretty smooth, there are nice tricks to improve I think.
(I can't believe people are playing my stuff. Neat.)

There is still quite a lot of time to be improved, and my personal record is yet to be beaten.
I'd like to share this run too, because it features an elevator (why not) and is basically a loop, to make it more frustrating interesting to complete. The Circles in the Slums:

This one is not very popular, I suspect it's partly because how hidden it is.

Have fun, and don't go mad.
Here's one I've been working on for quite some time:
http://www.mirrorsedge.com/map/timetrial/pc/943126975/20a793e0-e7bc-11e6-aee3-fda9a6279802
It's called Master of the Grid.
It took me 20mins+ to complete.
It's basically a walkthrough the entire map, pretty insane.
