  • DLC will probably come and open up more of the map
  • I never saw the online map, so I find the map huge.

Then again, I'm the guy who wants to find everything. I've already been some places that were supposed to be unreachable. I can tell by the invisible floors :-)

Now you cant view whole of it anymore

Which comes down to the point that making that whole model to hype up "omg what a big map" came down to the point that apparently only roughly 50% of it will be playable

Still not bad but personally I found that as a cheap trick. Surely they never talked about this (that's why i put the lie part in quotation marks) but first thing when you opened that map on website was being excited about how big it is while now its clear that not all of it is a playable area

Well, anyway, no preorder from my side. Decided to wait till the price will drop a bit and for some reviews about "late game" (personal feeling from beta was like 7/10)

Yeah I gotta admit I was disappointed by the actual map size. I thought that entire 3D map was gonna be open, hence the "open world" that they said it is. If it was a open world we'd be able to run around that entire map =]

I gotta, admit, I've waited so many years for a new Mirror's Edge, but I'm starting to have a second thoughts about my preorder. I was really hyped about how big map is and now it looks like it won't be that big at all for a free roam.
I'm also very concerned about the lenght of the game, about the main storyline that is... In beta after main missions it said we've done like 30% of the story. 30%!
And now I've seen some footage of Xbox one gameplay and game still look the same as it looked in beta. Same horrible low res textures on the building, draw distance practically non existent, background looks like it was made in PAINT... I'm playing on ps4 tho, but I know it won't look magically better there.
I also know there's a difference between high end pc and consoles, but come on. SW Battlefront looked amazing on both consoles, hella better than Catalyst.

wow nice xbox smash you did there, but could i remind you to get a PC before you talk about **** the game looks. ty <3
  • I hate to be the one to remind some of you that current gen consoles hit the peak of their performance marks when the second iteration of games came out for them. I was complaining about them when they released the specs on them compared to the previous jumps these might as well been a minor upgrade aside from the number of processing cores and RAM.

From the Atari all the way to the Xbox 360/PS3 game consoles have essentially doubled in VRAM. 8 bit NES, 16 bit SNES, 32-bit Sega Saturn, 64-bit N64, 128-bit PS2 and Xbox, 256 PS3 and Xbox 360, and guess what we have 256 PS4 and Xbox One with more processing cores for background elements and apps, that's about the extent of it.

Mirror's Edge catalyst uses a lot of VRAM and it's completely understandable that it doesn't bode well with the PS4 and Xbox One, but you can't blame the developers, they were limited by what Microsoft and Sony released to the rest of the world.

This games doesn't need a larger map.
It's a parkour game: if anything, more accessible floors in some buildings and more parkour-able areas is what you want from this game. Wider is meaningless here without surfaces to jump on.
I suggest you all at least try putting the current content to the test before asking for more.
