cutscences lag - Page 2 — Mirror's Edge™ Catalyst Forums
I have no framedrops during gameplay, playing on custom settings but they're pretty bumped up. I have a GTX 970 but only 8GB of DDR3 RAM and an i5 760 @2.80 GHz.
My PC still ran the beta really well, and I had no problem with the cutscenes. My question is: are the cutscenes real-time or pre-rendered? Because I've noticed that in the skill tree, the small screen on the top right corner that demonstrates the moves also lags. So, if the cutscenes ARE pre-rendered, that means there's an issue with the video file playback in the game.
So changing settings that affect real-time performance shouldn't fix that. I think it's up to the devs to patch it up.
I hope fixing this is DICE's #1 priority. It is a major issue.
They obviously doesn't care about the problem. They acknowledged they know about it, but it obviously not in priority. #1 priority is making Battlefield "1" ready for announcement and public demo. They keep ignoring here, they keep ignoring on twitter.
Already known issue. Also don't be so rude. They are trying their best fixing the issue, but developers have to switch to other projects to keep the newer games bug free. They are aware of the issue, so please be patient, they are not a big game studio either you know.

Dude
Let's start with the newer games bug free
It had this bug in the 6 hours early access before it came out so its a bug in the "newer games"
And second dice is a HUGE studio

Yeah it **** me off. I got games in early access more stable than this that has tiny studios.
The worst part is that the lag only appears in "pre-rendered" cutscenes. It means plain video files. And it lags RUNNING A VIDEO FILE? Better off watching them on youtube...
Plays the game perfectly fine on ultra settings tho when i'm not watching the ingame cutscenes/videos.

Well, doesn't even matter now because the piece of craap game DOESN'T EVEN START now. I'm so done with this. EA you should be ashamed for releasing this unfinished game.
Well, got it working, looks like the blur option was causing my crashing issue. I tried to turn it off and it caused the game to freeze, and restarting the game it would crash on startup. You have to delete the profile files in your documents/mirrors edge catalyst/ then it'll prompt you to sync the cloud data on the next start.
I have vsync off in game and on adaptive in the nvidia control panel, seems to work nicely in gameplay. The cut scenes were still unwatchable
My very old rig:
QX9650 @ 3.8ghz
8gb ddr2 at 1120mhz
Nvidia GTX580 3gb overclocked,
Runs smooth on medium settings at 1920x1080
The gameplay is phenomenal tho, I'm very impressed. Literally played it until the sun came up!
My cutscenes laaaaag sooo muuuch... The video slows down, the voices go along at normal speed... And it's ruining my experience please help me if you have a solution...
