I already asked one dev to look at this thread, and they said they would do it.

Hopefully one of these ideas get implemented in the future :)

That's really awesome, cheers for that! It's really great to know there are devs looking at topics like these!

That would be awesome, thanks for doing it. I got my fingers crossed for a Icarus dlc and some challanges for the main game , i loved the game but it felt short, could totally get more :D
  • These are some ideas from my "Mirrors Edge 3 - Social Play" post. I just have some ideas on how to make social play a bit more fun. You can check it out if you want :)
    - Runner Cabals: I think that creating your own runner cabals in the online game would be SICK. You and your cabal could go infiltrate a corporate building, or make an alliance with other cabals. Your cabal could have shared scrip, so you all could by gadgets and clothes together.
    - Runner Customization: For online gameplay it would be amazing if you could design your own runner. In story mode and regular free roam you play as Faith, and when you switch to online, you play as your custom-made character. You could collect clothes and accessories by stealing them from clothing corporations or by doing deliveries. This idea is sorta similar to "The Division".
    - Creating your own corporation: I really like this idea because there are so many ways to expand on it. creating your own corporation would be a really neat idea to me. You could design your own corporate building (Using pre-made buildings) give it some colors, and a name. Then you could establish your security/KSEC patrols. You could have security cameras and drones monitoring your HQ. Runners could sneak into your corporate building, and you can sneak into other corporate buildings. As you go up through the ranks, you'd start off with really easy KSEC patrols like, protecters. But as you get enough scrip and rank, you can upgrade to Sentinels, VTOLS and drones etc. And maybe you could even have a spot in the Conglomerate!

I really like the idea of runner cabals, that would be awesome. The runner customization sounds like Grand Theft Auto V's set up too, and that seems to work effectively. I'm not sure about the corporation part though, since it seems to work against the whole point of the game- the Conglomerate is bad (though I can definitely see it working). Runner cabals would be the dream.

Yeah definitely. And thank you! I was also thinking that they could implement cooler hacking abilities? Like Watch Dogs 2 sort of. I think it would be awesome to hack a drone and fly it into a VTOL, or hack into KSEC comms and play extremely loud opera music to distract them. Or even add headphones to Faith's gadgets. She could be like, "Hey Plastic, play me some tunes." and Plastic could play some hype Solar Fields song while Faith is infiltrating a building <<(Watch dogs 2 idea)

I've never played Watch Dogs or Watch Dogs 2, but I do like the idea of hacking drones etc. I thought it was cool that we got to
    ride a drone
; in fact, all of the parts of the game that you're really up in the air like
the final mission where you use the MAG rope to ride the huge fan up to the top of the Shard, and the mission where you have to escape by launching onto a VTOL
are what I would consider the highlights of the game. It's spectacular to feel like you're flying, to really build that momentum and feeling. I think we need more of that in Catalyst because it's pretty unreal and I think it makes the game stand out.

I really hope so; with the introduction of this forum, if DICE listens to what the fans are saying, they'll be able to make something amazing. Has it been officially confirmed that there will be DLC for Catalyst?

I'm not sure if it's been confirmed, but the team has been stirring up some DLC hints and ideas. Like in their "Runners Destiny" story run you heard music that wasn't heard before in the game we have now. There was also and out of bounds area that I found that had multiple objects highlighted red (possible DLC hint?)

    Don't be too optimistic. :(
The highlighted objects that can be seen out of bounds are more things that were dropped during development process, I'm pretty sure of that. The game was rushed, obviously, and they didn't think about DLC, except if they thank "OK, we drop that for now, no time anymore, but we'll put it in future DLC".
The problem is that the only time we read a developer on this forum about DLC was : "what about a DLC like the ones made for the first game". Far away from "new areas", "new missions", "new buildings to climb" don't you think?
  • Hey guys! sorry for the silence, a lot of us devs took some vacation over summer (myself included) so we haven't been checking the forums as much. I hope to have more time for it now :)

I LOOOOOOVE your ideas for DLC!!! especially the greylands... I personally would like to know more about the backstory of cascadia, and maybe do something with birdman and running "back in the day" or during the fall of omnistat? but i'm a sucker for story... to be completely honest I really enjoyed the abstract dlc for the first Mirrors Edge, so I think more puzzles or runs could be good too.

I'm just curious - what were your favorite side missions?
I think there's a lot of variety there, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

Yeah, I just saw a couple of vídeos out of bound, there was this place, all the way down, the boats , water and the place it self feels unfineshed but there's clearly enough work on it to possibly been something else before. A shame really, I havent tried it yet but it looked awesome from the vídeo.

    The vacation was good? :D
The side missions I loved the most:
    - Gridnodes, obviously, and also, climbing a building with moments inside and outside, plateform, puzzles (where to go now?).
    - Security hubs were fun, but repetitive. If you'll add new ones (inside NEW AREAS ^^) please try to vary a bit, more or less guards, different sorts of hub...
    - The top of the world ! Please, please, pleeeeease, more buildings to climb, with a lot of different gameplays (climbing, plateforms, puzzles, secret passages, beautiful and extraordinary rooms and lobby, inside and outside moments, and so on), that takes more than 20mn to finish (when we know it). There's a lot of buildings in the map that could be used for that. For example, open the map up to the twins buildings that look like horn... <3 <3 They could be a great side mission. I can wait 6 months for them...
For other DLC ideas there's already a dedicated thread. :)

I really like the Nomad side missions. The one wear you sneak into KrugerArms and steal that drone ship? Or sneak into that KSEC guards apartment? Those were my favorite. Delivery missions can get a little bit boring after a while, and a nice mission of sneaking into KrugerArms or breaking into an apartment were always extremely fun. Nomad's side missions really made me feel like I was a runner.

I like the mission where you have to help Beatrix plant the bugs. That was an interesting one, because I thought Beatrix wasn't even going to be in the game, just in the comic. I would like to see the return of other characters that were only in the comic. I enjoyed that mission a lot. A greylands addon would be really cool, and maybe a map expansion or a story from the other runners would fit in too.

Awesome to have you on here! Did you have a nice holiday?

My favorite side missions were probably the Nomad one where you steal that drone, and the Beatrix one was cool too. More puzzles would be brilliant! I loved the Gridnodes! More runs would be great too, but if I had to choose I'd say puzzles. I mean there are no lack of massive building nearby to base them in, but in general I really enjoyed the ones in the game so far so I'd love to see more. The runs ae great, but there are a lot of those Deliveries.

Also, since you're here, I feel the need to suggest you check out my suggestions thread. I mean it's kinda dead, and if there were others I'd definitely recommend those too, but they contain suggestions for small things to be added in future updates instead of more content.

Anyway, it's brilliant to see that you devs are out and about again and thank you for creating this awesome and amazing game! :D
  • I have an idea for a DLC, my idea takes place after the main story, Icarus, or maybe even Birdman, take over the Cabal after Noah and for the first few missions it's just Faith given normal runner tasks, you know, breaking into indoor environments to steal stuff or maybe even more complex delivery missions, maybe even cooperative runs with another runner, this could be multiplayer or done with an NPC, I just feel doing missions as a normal runner would, could be interesting, these missions could take place in new districts or maybe in the current ones that have expanded to new indoor and outdoor environments, anyways, then it's time for Faith to finally pay Dogen back and so she is sent on a run to do exactly that, but something would happen that set a new chain of events down, I'm not exactly sure what but, in my idea anyways, would involve a new character, possibly that runner from the pigeon's down mission that you never actually find out who they were. That's a pretty basic explanation of my idea,
    - New missions
    - New environments
    - New Characters
    - Expanded Story
    - Cooperative runs

Cool! I can't exactly see how the co-op running would work, but it definitely sounds like it has potential. The idea for the runner from Pigeon's Down is awesome, I've always wondered what that was about, so it would definitely make sense to use that. I'll think over the co-op thing and try to figure out the technical stuff, and add that to the list!
  • I can see a DLC with that mission you did with Nomad about that drone, Faith said "I'll give [the chip] it to you later."
The chip from the drone. Some of the side missions hint at DLC too, imo.

That thing was really remarkable! Every now and then I remember that moment.
Sometimes I think that the heights the Sky City building reaches are "way too much" from DICE, I think they've gone too far with this (maybe because sometimes I'm reminiscing on the original game's architecture), but still, it's a futuristic game and today we already have buildings like Burj Khalifa that shows what the future holds for us so besides this, climbing that building was INSANE.

They should make that a free roam area.

(Unless faith books a parkour adventure with Icarus and Nomad through the greylands into Aurora)

Got me wondering... That would be incredible :p

in fact, all of the parts of the game that you're really up in the air like
the final mission where you use the MAG rope to ride the huge fan up to the top of the Shard, and the mission where you have to escape by launching onto a VTOL
are what I would consider the highlights of the game. It's spectacular to feel like you're flying, to really build that momentum and feeling. I think we need more of that in Catalyst because it's pretty unreal and I think it makes the game stand out.

They should make the story and GridNode areas romable in free roam. There actually IS a Time Trial located in the Elysium Lab,s somehow. It's called The Elysium Labs Glitch, I believe. I wasn't able to figure out how they got there, so I just teleported there, and it was really weird seeing it not at night. It didn't look as good as it did in the actual mission, but still, it was cool.
  • The reason is, likely stated in the interview about how the lightning system work in the game , ( )where they had to come up with several lights system depending the time of the day. The Elysium mission happens at night, they did not bother to update the map to a moment of the day so only the GI act up on the model making it way too bright. On the opposite, if you glitch to the tallest tower to go back, you'll notice that at night it's all dark and you can't see a thing. For the glitch itself to go to Elysium lab, it uses the levitation technique by crouching + back at the very end of an edge allowing tou to "glide" in the air.
I think it's pretty obvious even if nothing has yet been announced that the game will very likely support DLC. The map is already so well made and there are sections that seems very likely to become part of exploration in a DLC. There's one part of the map outside that look too well details compared to the rest that feels almost like they removed a bridge in purpose. There are cool thing that could be expanded but I think the most important aspect for this game is the multiplayer one and that's really where I want to see them dig.

I know it's a little early to be talking about this, but since we haven't heard a peep about DLC, I can't help but speculate. I personally would like to see more parts of the city opened up, and a few more plotlines thrown in. I want to learn more about Faith's backstory, the guard with the scar, Dogen, etc. I'm not a huge fan of just adding more dashes or challenges.

    Thoughts?

My ideas aren't exactly appropriate for something like DLC, but I wish these things could be added to improve overall experience:

    1. If Faith can't hold guns, why not pick up batons? She used it in the cutscene with Gabriel. She can also technically use one of the Shock Protector's gear. There doesn't need to be a damage boost from these weapons. It's just so I can see more badass animations.
    2. The security measures in Glass are so petty. At 3 bars only a drone comes after me? There should be a fourth bar where Sentinels could not only appear, but actually pursue me. The other enemy types just stand in their little box, just waiting for me to return to them and crack their helmets.
    3. Map expansion is definitely a must. Maybe we can do parkour in the streets. That should be far more entertaining since the streets have potentially more small obstacles to navigate through. The parkour should be more streamlined on the streets.
    4. Freerunning tricks man. Who wouldn't appreciate that? Faith runs for the kick of it right? Why can't she do flips and dives then?
    5. In the I Am Faith trailer, there were cutscenes of Icarus and Nomad that weren't in the actual game. Are there deleted scenes? At this point, for the sake of the plot, I could accept anything Dice is willing to add to the story.
    6. CO-OP. GODDANG THIS SHOULD BE THE PERFECT GAME FOR IT. If I was allowed to run on the streets with much tighter security and population density, I wouldn't care about co-op. However, because the rooftops are so empty, and I see NOWHERE what you would call "cabal members looking after one another," co-op is a must. If there are 2 more more ppl, you could do real-time races, Dice could beef up the difficulty in Glass security, and more. Please Dice.

I really like the idea of using the melee batons. I also agree with the fact that Faith needs to have more fun tricks.
  • I just want a good chuck of story expansion in all of these amazing suggestions and to have more world. The rest of this island and the foodDome island (also sky city and the greylands thx) would be the icing AND the cherry on this amazing cake. And I'm not greedy, asking too much, cause I bought the collector's edition and I got platinum on this masterpiece. Love you DICE!
  • I would like to play as Celeste or Merc, if DICE includes the possibility to play as other characers with an update or a DLC. ;)

foodDome island and the rest would be awesome! I don't know much about the foodDome, but it would definitely be awesome to see some more plants and stuff ...

@alexleifu Those are some really cool ideas. I might add some of them to my Suggestions thread, because that's more for that kind of ideas if that's ok ...

A bit out of topic, is the game selling well enough to even expect or hope for possible fix patches on consoles and Dlcs? I know the game has flaws and all, but some critics about it were just unfair due to them being casual gamers, giving the game unfair reviews, something that will hurt the sales. I'm really looking foward to dlc like the ideas in here, playing with Icarus, etc... I'm just concerned, for exemple, on psn I only see like 12.5k votes (I think) , uncharted has like 120.5k....AC Unity and The Witcher 3 like more than 200k... I´m not expecting it to reach those hights on sales, but a bit more like 50k in a month would give me hope to see more of this unique game

edit: grammar errors, lesson learned, never type anything when you more asleep than awake xD

Definitely. And it is just tragic to see the critics tearing the game apart like that. I mean what did the game ever do to them? Ok the Story has flaws, and was too cliche and triple A like, but then again, so do ... well basically all AAA games, if not it wouldn't be cliche, right? Ok, the Story's a big part, but for many more, the gameplay is bigger. And the critics somehow either dissed it or ignored it. I mean that's the main part of the game! It's what makes this game amazing! Yet all they have to do is post a video of them stumbling around and call it clunky, and people will believe them. There was a huge raucous when Polygon showed a video of somebody badly playing Doom, so why not this? This game isn't Press X to win! These people clearly can't play! Whatever the case, the critics have been **** bent on tearing this game apart and giving it bad publicity. This is ridiculous, seeing as it's basically a one of a kind anyway, but that's that. All we can do is recommend recommend recommend. I think they've easily made enough for at least one DLC, but in the end, it's up to EA, and whether they're willing to invest more in this.
  • sadly, it happens a lot with reviews, only a well informed gamer (the minority) will see when a review is just bad or paid. hope the game is seeling well...

on topic, I´m drawing my own runner based on me xD still on working progress, would love MP on DLC or most likely the next game, where you can create your own character and just run around with at least one person
