Latest 'UPDATE' 14th June has broken game completely.

Prev13
Right was fine yesterday and today I now have:
  • Screen Tearing
  • Black Screens and Resolution switching like mad.
  • Audio Desyncs and strangely sped up cutscenes to catch up to audio point
  • Input Dropouts
  • Environmental Context Points 80% of time do not work now.#
  • Also got stuck in a few Context points freezing mid movement and flopping onto floor like Faith was rubbing butt like Dogs do with Worms!
  • Ai is broken and many times has just given up and decided to walk off roofs, into corners and one even fell off roof to grab onto wall mid way down.

Will edit footage later (as got to go out to view a few properties to let) as evidence to these **** moments. Got extremely annoyed and had to stop playing, if you could call it that.

  • Yeah now im having a TON a metric TON of graphic glitches. Textures flickering and disappearing and stuff.

What ever happened to Q/A ? because release an update that we werent even given a choice as to install or not ?. This is what i absolutely hate with the modern "oh we will just automatically" update your games or whatever.
  • Haha. Can't start the game. Says I have an old driver yet I have the newest one out.

Rename the nvapi64.dll to bypass the driver restriction.

Nah, got AMD. Works with deleting settings file too. Downside is, you have to put your graphic settings again.

i get it flicking black screens during loading screens. Running the game on a 980M with the latest driver. will upload a video.

I didn't get these black screens before the patch so it's definitely the patch causing this.

At least you can go to Origin options and uncheck automatic updating of your games.
  • Dear EA Dice,

I have a serious question to you guys. Did you test the newest Patch (14.06.16) before releasing? It switches constantly between the Vsync settings during loading screens. It makes the Game unbearable. My Gsync monitor flickers all the time during the loading screen. You have ruined it for me. I really wanted to continue playing :=(.

Please fix it as soon as possible. It worked before. Just do it the From Software way and take the patch back after destroying a game...

    Sincerely,

    A disapointed customer (Robert)
  • IMO, having vsync issues only in the loading screen is no big deal (it's a loading screen so you're only waiting anyway) but what does bother me is that the patch seems to reduce the performance of the game by about 10 to 20 fps. I was able to play the game with a smooth 60 fps, with very rare cases where it would go below that, and now it's constantly having frame drops. (Using a GTX 770)

At my system is this workaround not pssible, This update is required, new install from dvd. Origin and updater blocked from firewall ...
For activation Origin needed a Connection and Origin installed the Patch...
Origin means "Dont play without the Patch"

Sorry for my bad english, partially translatet by google....

Yeh they broke something, however minor. Since the update on PC, I get the black flicker during the white load screens, and also if go to the video settings and try to adjust brightness, e.g. Things seem otherwise fine while in the game and map screen, etc. But for no reason I now occasionally have the game go into a sort of slow motion, making it impossible to complete deliveries!
  • i had the same problem, you can fix it by setting borderless windowmode in the game

Did you opt to unrestrict gpu memory in the video menu? If so, turn that back to default and your performance should return to how it was. A 770 doesn't have enough vram to cope.

    that's a workaround , and impacts performance

  • A lot of those issues I was having before this patch but now it's pretty **** smooth n solid.

****, even texture pop-in has yet to appear, which has killed me more than a few times since floors seem slow to load at times :/

Texture streaming is as bad as always.
  • I know that the GTX 770 has little VRAM, but with the settings I had the game was running perfect for me, and I wanted to avoid using the Restrict GPU Memory option because it would make most textures very low, while a few others appear with a high quality. Now I just have it set to Medium and everything looks OK texture-wise. All the other settings I was able to set to High or sometimes Ultra.

Everyone else complained they were too blurry, Dice changed something to tighten texture LOD up. You win some, you lose some. That's a *very* old graphics card to be playing 2016 Frostbite games with.
  • I didn't know about the texture LOD changing, I'll enable that setting again and see if it's better  Thanks!

Also the card is just fine, it's just the VRAM that's a little outdated but that's fine. By the way I'm not complaining if a game is running bad on this card, but if it worked fine and it appears for me that an update ruined the performance, then I'm complaining. But once again, I may just have to re-enable the Memory restriction option.
  • same here, before that "update" all was fine, appart the desync in cutscene, with a GTX 970, and now screen issue during loading, they are more long too and in the game i have stuttering/freezing that i wasn't getting before, and the freezing remain in the menu, it have become a mess to change a setting now...

i have try to change all the graphics settings to see and it's the same on low or on ultra.

    GOOD JOB DICE

michamallorca suggested to try to run the game in Windowed Borderless mode. I can't try it out right now but it may work, although that did reduce my fps before (maybe not anymore).
  • The flashing loading screens which this update has introduced are so annoying. Particularly since it flashes pitch black from super bright white, they give me a headache any time the game loads now. And no I'm not going to go borderless window, given the performance loss. Did you guys not even test this update at all?
  • @SplitCoreGaming Hi! I've reached out to you through DM, hoping we can troubleshoot this together.

because the dev are not able to do it by their own or perhaps, they don't want to spend time on it, but are able to patch the Xbox1 issue within the first day? where is the logic on that?

The devs of MEC are lacking of professionalism a lot on the PC version , you can warn me if you want but , for me, they are inneficients..

The most update they do, the less the game is playable for us (pc community), its better, i think,, to go back to the last version.

You should test your update before put them online, its just a basic thing to do, and they won't.

And the problem is not hardware related, because i have a good PC, who was running the game smoothly before this patch.

    A rollback is urgently needed.

for me it is the workoround and by me gtx960ssc 4gb the same framerate than in fullscreen mode. So try it and let as now.

sorry but before complaining on the forum, i try to search to solve my issue by finding some tips on the internet, and i have already try this, "borderless mode", i have also try to erase the "PROF_SAVE_profile" file, and do a repair on ORIGIN, but that issue remain after those try..

I have try to play with the graphic settings, and its always the same..

    i5 4670k / 8g RAM / GTX 970 oc / WIN 7 / 27' 144Htz 1080p

it's the same when i put the graphics settings on low, or on ultra.

    I resume my issues here:

Alternate black screen when the game is loading (like a resolution change); the screen try to adjust to the game settings.

The game is stuttering and most of the time freezing every five seconds in the game or in the menus.

*for those one, i haven't encountered them before the patch^^

and the last, the cinematic desync issue, who was always here since the early acess/release, but that depends on the cinematic, some are good and some are unwatchable.

We need a roolback asap, like that, they will be able to really test their update.

  • maybe the update makes the things better for 960 und destroys the game for 970 and 980 :-(
